Construction continues to make significant progress on the Grimes Bridge Park Soccer Field Improvements Project, with work remaining on schedule for completion ahead of the fall 2026 soccer season. Crews have reached several major construction milestones and are now beginning installation of the new artificial turf playing surface.
Funded through the voter-approved 2022 Parks Bond Program, the project is modernizing Grimes Bridge Soccer Fields #1 and #2 to improve safety, field durability and stormwater management while supporting year-round play for Roswell’s growing soccer community.

One of the project’s most visible milestones is now underway as artificial turf installation begins on field #2. Over the coming weeks, crews will continue installing the turf system while completing grading work on the lower field and constructing the remaining stormwater best management practices (BMPs).
Since construction began, several major components of the project have been completed, including:
- Rebuilding the retaining wall between the two soccer fields
- Constructing the new plaza area outside the fields
- Restoring the detention pond, which is now functioning as designed
- Advancing stormwater improvements throughout the project area
Following completion of the primary construction work, landscaping and tree replanting will take place this fall when environmental conditions are more favorable for plant survival.
The project remains on track to reopen in time for the fall 2026 soccer season, when regular operations are expected to resume throughout Grimes Bridge Park.
Visitor Information
The existing parking lot closure and temporary traffic pattern remain in effect during construction. Visitors should continue following posted signage when accessing Grimes Bridge Park until the project is complete. View the current construction access and traffic map below before visiting the park.
