The City of Roswell is proud to announce the 25th Anniversary of the Roswell Roots Festival, has grown into one of the Southeast’s most significant and long-running celebrations of Black history, culture, and artistic expression.

Since its founding in the early 2000s by Groveway Community, the Roswell Roots Festival has become a regional cultural destination, drawing thousands annually to events that uplift African American heritage through art, education, cultural, performance, and history.

To honor this milestone the 2026 festival will expand beyond the traditional month-long format, launching on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19, and continuing through February 28.

“For 25 years, Roswell Roots has stood as a powerful reminder of the voices, stories, and creativity that shape our community, “ said Mayor Kurt Wilson. “This year’s expanded festival reflects the impact Roswell Roots has had, not just in Roswell, but across the Southeast region.

The 2026 festival features special anniversary programming, new signature events, returning favorites, and expanded partnerships with cultural institutions, Black artists, and community organizations.
