The City of Roswell has once again been recognized as a “Bicycle Friendly Community” by the League of American Bicyclists, earning a Bronze-level designation for 2025. The recognition places Roswell among 10 communities in Georgia acknowledged for their commitment to improving conditions for people who bike, walk, and roll.

This marks another milestone in Roswell’s long-standing participation in the program. The City first applied in 2005 and has steadily built momentum over two decades, earning its first Bronze designation in 2006 and maintaining the status in 2008, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2021, and now in 2025.

“This designation reflects our commitment to creating a connected city where healthy choices are easy, accessible, and built into everyday living,” said Mayor Mary Robichaux. “When we invest in safe places to bike and walk, we are investing directly in our community’s long-term health and quality of life.”

Roswell’s continued Bronze recognition reflects the City’s ongoing investment in:

  • Expanding and maintaining multi-use trails and bicycle infrastructure
  • Improving safety through planning and design
  • Supporting alternative transportation and recreation options
  • Creating a more connected and livable community

Communities recognized through the Bicycle Friendly Community program demonstrate progress toward safer streets, stronger connectivity, and a higher quality of life. The program emphasizes sustained progress through policies, infrastructure, education, and community partnerships that make bicycling safer and more accessible for all ages and abilities.

“Building better places to bike is a shared effort,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “The communities recognized … are part of a growing national movement, taking practical steps to support bicycling as a safe, accessible, and valuable part of everyday life.”
