Mayor Kurt Wilson and Roswell City Council recently took another important step to strengthen the unseen infrastructure beneath our neighborhoods, buildings, and parks by investing in the City’s stormwater system. These hidden systems quietly carry away rainwater, prevent flooding, and protect homes and streets from damage.

On Sept. 22, Roswell City Council unanimously approved a $355,471 contract with Inliner Solutions, LLC to launch the City’s Stormwater Lining Package Project, supported by a total budget of $391,018.

The project will rehabilitate 18 stormwater pipes and structures along nine different roads throughout Roswell. The pipes, which range in size from 18 to 48 inches and are primarily corrugated metal pipes (C.M.P.), will be lined using Cured-In-Place Pipe (C.I.P.P.) technology. This trenchless method allows for the reinforcement and repair of aging infrastructure without the need for full pipe replacement, minimizing disruption to the community while extending the service life of the stormwater system.

The project was advertised this summer to eight pre-qualified contractors, with two companies submitting bids. After review, Inliner Solutions was selected as the lowest and most qualified bidder. An additional 10% contingency, $35,547, was set aside to cover any unexpected conditions uncovered during the work. Funding comes directly from the City’s Stormwater Fund.

Once work begins, residents can expect activity on several local streets, including Myrtle Street, Rounsaville Road, Kingridge Drive, Crenwood Cove, Spring Creek Road, Roswell Hills Court, River Landing Drive, and others. In each location, the goal is to strengthen the pipes we depend on, without disrupting daily life.

The City’s commitment to infrastructure goes beyond what we see day-to-day. This project is part of a larger strategic focus of investing in the foundations that keep Roswell resilient by preventing flooding, and maintaining the quality of life for our residents.
